The Tryon Daily Bulletin is the local newspaper that we always keep in the Derbyshire office (it’s also The World’s Smallest Daily Newspaper). It keeps you up to date on just about everything happening in the Tryon/Columbus/Landrum area.

Carolina Foothills Chamber of Commerce
Serving as the Chamber of Commerce for Tryon, Columbus and Landrum, their website provides information on local businesses and services available in the area and information for those who are planning to move here.
A bit different from the other resources listed above, this site tells you why Derbyshire has such great weather! It explains how our location in the isothermal belt impacts our local climate.
Local Bed & Breakfasts
The Butterfly Creek Inn is a beautifully decorated home that has been converted into a truly relaxing space for visitors. If offers five guest rooms and is located only 10 minutes from Derbyshire.
The 1906 Pine Crest Inn and Lodge in situated right in downtown Tryon, NC. In close proximity to restaurants, shops, and the Tryon Theatre, the inn also features its own restaurant, Carter’s at Pine Crest, where they serve up 3-course gourmet breakfasts.
The Red Horse Inn is quickly becoming one of the most popular places in stay in upstate South Carolina. They were recently featured in Travel + Leisure magazine as one of “America’s Most Romantic Hotels”.
Local Wineries
Just down the road from Derbyshire, this winery is located in a quaint little cabin on the hill overlooking the vineyard. They offer Chardonnay, Petit Manseng, Kings Mountain Rosé, Blueberry, Blackberry and Muscadine in their tasting room.
One small town over from Columbus, you’ll find Parker-Binns Vineyard in Mill Spring, NC. In their tasting room you will find Chardonnay, Rosé, 2012 Red Blend, Moscato, and Blackberry wines.
Best known as the first winery in the world to ever produce a red chardonnay, the Green Creek Winery is located just outside Derbyshire’s Wessington Drive entrance.
Local Events & Attractions
One of the best known festivals in the area, each year the Blue Ridge BBQ festival draws a crowd of over 30,000. North Carolinians take their BBQ seriously, and this festival proves it.
Acting as a venue for both the visual and performing arts, in addition to an educational center for youth, the Tryon Fine Arts Center is the hub for artistic activity in the area.
The Upstairs Artspace is a contemporary gallery located in downtown Tryon. Featuring the work f artist from the Southeast, the gallery also acts as an event venue.
Just down the road in Flat Rock, NC, the Playhouse is a fantastic theatre that offers access to high quality performances without the need to travel to a larger city.
